The Symposium will be held at Rica Park Hotel in Sandefjord, Norway.The hotel is located in a park near the town centre. Sandefjord is a charming small town situated by the Oslo fjord about 100 km southwest of Oslo. In former times the town was the centre of the Norwegian Antarctic whaling industry, and the whaling museum and famous fountain bear witness to its past. Today Sandefjord is a busy and prosperous town and a summer resort with shops, restaurants and many tourist attractions within easy reach.


Sandefjord can easily be reached by plane, train, car or ship. From Oslo, Sandefjord can be reached by road (E18) in about two hours. It is possible to take the train from Oslo airport Gardermoen directly to Sandefjord. From Strømstad in Sweden to Sandefjord there is a daily ferry connection. It is also possible to take the ferry from Hirtshals in Denmark to the nearby town Larvik. Sandefjord International Airport is close and has direct connections to Copenhagen, Stockholm, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, and Glasgow

The hotel offers special rates for participants. The room including breakfast will cost NOK 725 per day. Accompanying persons will pay an additional NOK 300 per day (also including breakfast). Students will get a discount of 35%. These rates are valid for arrival on 29 May and departure on 3 June. In case you wish to extend or shorten your stay, please notify the hotel directly.

The get-together party, cocktail reception and the conference dinner will take place at the Conference hotel.
