Women International Space Simulation for Exploration

The Women International Space Simulation for Exploration is a cooperative study between the European Space Agency (ESA), the French Space Agency (CNES), the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) and the American National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

The study is used as a method of testing and developing countermeasures to the effects of weightlessness on female astronauts through the use of appropriate physical exercise and therapy, medication and nutrition. Developing more effective countermeasures is essential for the success of future long-duration human spaceflight missions to Mars.
